Very close on the assembly line

I found this car for sale on eBay. It has the same build date as mine and close vin numbers. The neat part is my vin ends in 966 and the order number of the other car ends in 966. Mine is the a4 car.

Due to the way VINs were assigned, the cars could have been built weeks apart.

The VIN is an administrative number and unrelated to production sequence. (The VIN is a cardinal number not an ordinal)

The only way to know for sure how close they were built together is to compare broadcast sheets.
