OK guy's , Let's see if anyone here can tell me what brand big block Mopar valve covers these are . I've had them since the very early 80's and always planned on using them on something , but never did . I got them from a friend that raced early Mopars back then and never could find out any info on them . I've only seen one other set and that was on e-bay recently and even the seller couldn't tell me who made them . In the picture , there's only two mushroom style breathers , but I do have all four . I think those where added sometime during there life . The only markings on them are on the inside saying "early Chrysler" , that's it . I'd really like to know who made these , so any help would be great . :D

It's interesting they say early Chrysler. I thought early covers were 4 bolt covers. The set that's on eBay now are 4 bolt covers but look like the ones you have.

Look like CalCustom to me. did a lot of these back in the day. (but, then again, I can't rely on what little marbles I have left)

Was thinking Cal Custom too. They for sale?

I'm 90% sure these guys are correct.... Cal Custom used to sell ALL KINDS of stuff. Didn't they sell gas pedals that look like a foot too?

Yep. valve covers, air cleaners, pedal dress-up, all sorts of those doo-dads.

Yeah but any of the Cal Custom valve covers I found from that era had a big C in the middle of them . Also on the Cal Custom one's the fin's where level , These the ends curve inward , so they level out with the angle of the block when there installed kind of .

I remember I had some as a kid that looked like cal custom but had no name except made in japan. I put them on my 65 muskwhang.

I'm pretty sure that these are Cal Customs on my Coronet. The are a bit flatter and have the holes on the ends. I don't remember seeing early or late underneath them. Next time I have them off I`ll check.

Thanks I'd appreciate it . Honestly , I think there Moon . But I have no way of proving it because I could never find another set like these . That is , other then the one set I found on e-bay . I showed them to someone that used to race way back when and he thought that they where Moon as well but wasn't a 100 % sure .

Email a picture to Moon Equipment Co. They'll know.

Yah know ? That's not a bad idea . I know Moon was revamped around 2009 with a new owner . But they might still have some sort of archives from the original company . Thanks for thinking of that !

I figured you guy's might like to know what I just found out . From what it look's like , the one other set I found a while back . The seller found out the history of them . From what he say's , These were made by Edelbrock for Chrysler to install on some of there special option cars back in the 1960's . From what he say's , these were factory installed on these special optioned cars . Here's the link to the set he had if anyone is interested . http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960s-FACTO...S-CHRYSLER-DODGE-EDELBROCK-RARE-/400877615969

Cool. I just wished I kept all the stock wheels, exhaust manifolds, & valve covers that were thrown out back in the day.

Must be why they have "early chrysler" on them.
Looks like you hit the jackpot too, $1300.00!

Interesting story. If Edelbrock did indeed make these in the 60s, EARLY CHRYSLER would have meant 4 bolt covers, as has been said. 6 bolt covers would have been 'current' and ever since... In any case, with no documentation, it's just a story and in my mind they're not worth anywhere near what they were asking. I do see that they were sold though. Like they say, there's an a** for every seat...

Agreed about the 4 bolt valve covers. 1963 and later were 6 bolt.
Here's another set on fleaBay, (no info on what brand, says mopar)

You and me both . I don't want to even think about all the stuff I either gave away or sold cheap years ago when I was cleaning out my storage area's .
