Just use some grease and wax remover prior to spraying on the glue.

Agree I’d be more worried about the paint peeling off the roof before the top peeling off the paint with the glue

Thanks! I was worried to scuff that beautifully painted roof...anyway it will be buried under vinyl for its lifetime

Only my two bits about the 2 Torres of trim.
My 69 originally had vinyl. Gramps took it off and went hard top. Same trim used in both applications.

Same boat. Putting top on my "X." Wasn't born with one, but love an on these bodies! Plus, hiding some " issues. "
