Want to Lift My 73 RR

Hey Fellow Mopar Nuts:

I'm looking for suggestions on how to lift my 73 RR up a few inches--maybe 2-4in. The front cowling is ~11in. off the ground and the rear cowling is ~15in. off the ground. I still have the original body-frame spacers. Would new spacers help? How about adjusting the front torsion bar?

Adjusting the torsion bars will raise the front.

To raise the rear you can:

-Add shackles
-Use air shocks
-Replace the leaf springs

Fyi, just rebuilt my entire car, and with new leafs, rear is about 18 inches off the ground and about the same as what it was when I was running air shocks before the rebuild. For the front, you are not too far off, as I sit at 11.5 inches off the ground with new torsion bars, k-frame bushings etc. Don't do shackles, those look horrible on any car!

ESPO Springs and things is where I got my leafs, www.springsnthings.com, they also make sure the set is matched for height, and 73 RR is a one off year for the spring, because of the center bolt design, however, some people of modified it from other years, however, if you are getting new they can hook you up. There are a couple of companies that make urethane bushings for the k-frame, Prothane and Energy suspension, available from many vendors.

Good luck raising your car `Luther, I thought you would get some good advice here, i agree with the leaf springs myself being the best way for the rear end.. Air shocks most don't agree with and those shackles really don't look to good, to me anyway..
