hello, I am looking for either a NOS or used original in great shape oil Breather cap for my 1967 GTX 440. Must use PayPal for transaction.
chrome factory OEM please.Chrome or painted?
no CAP CAR. I am looking for a OEM factory original. But thank you for the info.CAP or not?
This SHOULD be the CAP version, with a hose going to your air cleaner.
The '67 guys here should know more.

thank you for the heads up. However, it isn't what the 67 GTX came from the factory with. The one I need is taller and doesn't have what appears to be a Pentastar on the top.
Did you search eBay? Does it have a nipple?thank you for the heads up. However, it isn't what the 67 GTX came from the factory with. The one I need is taller and doesn't have what appears to be a Pentastar on the top.
i was told that any cars built in 66 didn't have the nipple for the hose yet until Jan. 67 when they made all 67's get the CAP pkg. Any truth to that? The one your after looks like the one posted above via Mancini Racing
AFAIK, ALL 1967s had the nipple
My car was built 12/13/66, which was before the 67's all went over to the cap with the nipple/hose setup. I was told by a reliable source that I could go either way, because many times the factory would run out early and move on to the next item. My car was built in the LA plant, CA., where all CA. sold cars were mandatory CAP Pkg., but sold in a dealership in Seattle, WA. where the CAP PKG. wasn't mandatory. When I purchased my car it was setup to race. I had to tear down the motor to put it back to factory original using mostly new NOS parts as well as restoring the harder to get original.CAP or not?

you are correct. This is what I have now. OEM. Again, I just thought it might be nice to get what was supposed to be on any cars built before 1/1/67. if there is any truth to that, I cannot get anyone to verify that really knows for sure. The one you're after looks like so.

Chrome only on a 67 GTX that had chrome valve covers
Any others could be chrome OR black

To the best of my knowledge ALL 67s had the nipple breather capyou are correct. This is what I have now. OEM. Was the dealer the car was purchased from in CA.?Guys, correct me if I'm wrong here.
The CAP cars, which both of my 1967 440 R/Ts were ( CA resident from 1962-2018) had a nipple on the air cleaner, and a vacuum retard valve (green?) for the distributor.
If so, that would be correct. But mine was built for a dealer in Seattle, WA. in December 1966. There is a very good chance that since they changed the law as of 1/1/67 to give all 67's an Air Cleaner that accepts the hose to Air Breather, that mine did get it also. But without a window sticker, no way to tell. Like I said, either way and I would be ok. nobody would dispute it.Was the dealer the car was purchased from in CA.?
