Was the 340 equipped Roadrunner available with the air grabber option?

I was curious, was the small block Plymouth Roadrunner ever factory-equipped with the air grabber option?

In that case, I would like to install an Air Grabber on my 1972 Satellite Sebring Plus (318). Can I use my factory hood and bolt one on? If so, does anyone make a complete kit to do so?

PG Classic Restoration Air Grabber Response

I found a complete air grabber kit at PG Classic website (would cost the same as what I just paid for the complete 1972 SSP I just purchased). According to the PG drop down menu for compatibility, this kit is not compatible with my model. So I asked a question via e-mail to the PG staff and my answer from them was:
"This kit is made for 71-72 RR, GTX . The fiberglass scoop can be used on a 71 Satellite hood but not 72 Satellite."
Now I just realized with the help of this website that the 1972 models have two diagonal fender braces that attach to the firewall that the 1971 models do not have, which I guess could interfere with the air grabber box. But the answer from PG person still does not make sense to me. I plan on asking them to send me the installation instructions before I make any purchase. Comments from any air grabber experts out there?

it will fit both years
don't know what jive they are talking about?
those braces would simply have to go to put a ag hood on a 72
the 340 ag also uses the same air cleaner as the 440.
stinger also makes a kit that is probably cheaper then pg.
once you play with a ag hood
keep in mind they will nickle and dime you to death if you are missing parts
alot of expensive hard to find specific fasteners were used on them.

The correct one year only (’72) fender braces do not interfere with the Air Grabber. The ‘72 passenger side brace has a slight bend midway to accommodate the air box seal flange. The braces in ’72 where installed at factory originally on all big block cars only, arguably some 340 cars as well some will say.
There is no reason the original style AG parts won’t fit a ’72 Satellite, braces or not. Obviously the hood will need some modifications, hood pictured uses original parts and a modified original Satellite flat hood.

That is all good news, in fact, now I am interested in retrofitting the braces which I thought the PO had discarded (but I guess with a 318 it was never equipped with them). If anyone has the dimensions and hole locations (no hurry) I would appreciate the placement. I might go to a 340 or big block later and I don't like metal flexing too much.

If you're not in a big rush, I can get the dimensions and hole locations off my '72 340 RR when I pull it out of winter storage in May. Shoot me a reminder, I'm getting senile..:eusa_doh:
