Can anyone tell me the differences between the #5987 and #1987 Hi-Rams? "I thought" the 5987 had slightly bigger ports but I'm not sure.
Thanks!

I do not remember numbers anymore at my age.
However, I recall that Weiand used to sell two different
tunnel rams in the 70's. One had more material cast into the
top of the port runners to enable you to port it to Max Wedge dimensions.

The Weiand tunnel ram was faster for us than the Offy or Mopar Perf. Tunnel
Rams in our testing back then despite what Mopar advertised that their's were
25 HP better. We used (Still do) 4224SA Holley 660 Center Squirters.

On the 426 Race Hemi we used 850 base plates on 4224s and they ran as well as Dominators on my 68 Factory LO23
Hemi Dart that we converted to Pro Stock around 1970. I got a 150 lb. weight break
to run a true Automatic back then (9.90 @ 131)
