I was poking around in the trunk of my 69 wiring up some speakers and found some odd holes in the top of the quarter panels that were “filled” at some point in the cars past. The holes match up perfectly to the mounting points of a Daytona/Superbird wing. I have no clue why someone would put something so ugly on a 69 Coronet, or when it was done for that matter. But I found it very interesting. I also included a pic of the wing mounting template.

Be careful what you put in the trunk.
Those patches may not be too sturdy if the get bumped into from inside.

Back in the day people bought wings of junkyard Daytonas and Superbirds and put them on other cars.
Lots of pics out there of such cars.

Yeah I’ve been searching for pics of 69 Coronets with wings on them and haven’t come up with anything. At least nothing matches this car. It was originally T7, and there is an old picture of a copper/bronze 69 with a wing, but it’s a post car.

what is odd is the factory sound deadener stops there in the same manner as around the marker lights
