What’s cool about where you’re from?

Dont you have the lake?? I have the Lake Erie. It recieves mostly bad press and always has, but I think it would be a lot more boring around here without it! Definately adds a lot of fishing and tourism to the rust belt.
Yeh....grew up on Lake St. Clair. But I'm just tired of the winters....

My hometown. Its a beautiful location. I live literally right by this extinct volcano that last erupted 2-3 million years ago. Good fishing, good restaurants and a healthy amount of American muscle cars of all brands live here.

blueberry capital of the world...... tons of cranberries too...... that's about it

I’m originally from a small town (650 people) in IL called Franklin. It is the Burgoo capitol of the world. Every 4th of July the town gets together and makes it. Lots of it! It’s a thick stew. Pretty good, everything but the kitchen sink in it.
Other than that, armpit! I left the day after High School Grad.

If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If live gives you blueberries and cranberries, make muffins!

Born and raised in Joliet.I guess the Joliet Prison and Rt.66 are tourist attractions for a lot of folks.Chicagoland speedway & Rt.66 Drag strip also.

I live in Florida, also known as New York South. We have a large number of northern natives move down to retire in this state. Little known fact is that the native Floridians have a yearly vote to highlight the areas of highest concentration and then the hurricanes are ordered for that area to chase them back north. Yes, it's true, hurricanes are under state control.

I'm in Cloverdale, B.C. which is the area that the city of Surrey began. It was a rail hub over 100 years ago, some of the main roads here were originally tracks.

Like a lot of the area surrounding Vancouver, there is a lot of film work going on. Countless movies have been made here, most of which were decorated to look like small American towns. Like when Danny Devito was here to film the movie "Deck The Halls", it was a scorching hot July, but part of the town was covered in fake snow to make it look like winter. When the show 'Smallville' was made, Cloverdale actually had a sign that proclaimed it:

The local theatre (first one built in Surrey in the 1940s) is called The Clova, but it wore a Talon sign for Smallville filming.

That same theatre has been repainted in its original colours and is now home of a church:

There used to be an electronics repair shop, been in town since 1929.

The television show 'Sabrina' was filmed here, much of the town was used as Greendale. Dann's radio shop is now used as the set of the bookstore for that show. All those leaves on the ground were props, it was springtime when this shot was taken.

All in all, a quiet place to walk around, since the main highway has bypassed the old town center. This is just about six miles from the US border crossing.

Little Sahara State Park: desert dunes.

More Indian Casinos than NYC has Starbucks. (I hate gambling and what it has done to my sister and her family.)

Then there's this:

The Center of the Universe is an acoustic anomaly – when standing in the center of the circle and making noises, only you can hear it echo…loudly! The Center of the Universe is a great spot for photos, a fun night out with friends or a cool place to keep kids entertained for hours. Address: Downtown Tulsa near the pedestrian overpass between Archer and 1st Street.
