What’s missing?

What’s missing here? I know there should be somewhere to connect to, but is where it should go removable or is my heater box broken?

The duct goes up to the defrost vent and outlet of the box there blows on your feet.

Should go something like this... Although Im not 100% sure Up to the defrost vents. What I dont remember is if they are spliced together with a y pipe at the vents. And the other hole is for dash heat or cool air.. Something like this.

The right defroster duct is the exact issue. I thought the hole in my heater box was where the duct was supposed to go. I will double check today.
