What color ...

I should have clarified ..., besides white?

As light as a color as you can get. The darker the color, the more predominant imperfections will be. That's why with a black car, you'll be block sanding till your arms fall off......believe me! LOL. Metallic's/Pearl also enhance imperfections in most cases. Glossy paint also makes them worse.

Yeah, I know about black and white, it's the inbetween that I'm trying to find. I'm leaning toward yellow, but not lemon twist or a pale yellow, more like a 90's viper yellow, bright, but almost flat.

I really like this look, where would this color fall on the scale between black and white?

BTW, your '69 is killer, mine just doesn't have the body for black.

Thanks man! It's the last black car i'll ever do! LOL. Anyways...thank you!

That's a pretty mean looking bird! I'd think that yellow would mask some unwanted eye catcher's pretty nice. Sharp looking color on top of it.

Here's a shot of my Coronet. Hate to say it, but the color is 1974 Corvette yellow (not my idea). Anyways, this is a single stage paint, wet sanded/buffed out pretty hard. It might possibly give you an idea how the glare reflects the body surface in the color yellow.

Wow, thats a mirror finish! Nice Coronet, you damn sure won't lose her in a parking lot. :hello2:

A flat finish does make imperfections less noticeable but depending how bad the imperfections are you will still see them but just not as bad as a glossy finish.

Spray more high build and keep blocking,it sucks but the end result is worth it.

White/ with a bit of orange peel....don't knock it all down (wet)...

&wheel....compound will not restore full gloss but a sheen like a new car.....

also; if you build up too much base" it" can crack

.........i think, says sonny:icon_pale:

Why not just repair the bodywork?

It's the bird in my signature and while she's pretty straight, she's not perfect. The paint is showing it's age and I don't have the time or resources right now for a full restoration as I have several projects going on at once. I was thinking just a quick refresh and respray, but I would kind of like a color change too.

So much to do, so little time ... :bom:

I've had light yellow and sublime cars that had marginal body work and was hidden with the color. They were just a non polished single stage paint.

Spring time yellow hides some marks. But do yourself a favor. Just block it out until it's right. If your gonna scuff it to reshoot it, just block it a few times after the scuffing and be done.
