What design/part is not liked on your B-body?

Console should have a padded armrest at the appropriate height for comfort.
There it is. I knew there might be something....

Console 1.jpg

I saw this at the Fall Fling in Van Nuys last weekend. This was the first of these that I have seen with the big arm rest cushion. Check out the cigarette lighter...

Console 2.jpg

It was hinged at the rear, not at the side.

Console 3.jpg

See the button just forward of the cushion? This was from a C body.

This among many other reasons why a Chrysler letter car builds scares me? Just too much. Too much body and body folds. Too much chrome pieces. Just too much! Lol. It's nice seeing that they do bring big $$. Because that restoration? OUCH!

Do the weenie cylinder heads count in this discussion?
I mean I get it, with the advent of the Hemi they probably didn't see much reason to continue developing the standard architecture....but dammit Mopar. SB Chevy ports for everything from an Imperial to the legendary A-12? C'mawn!
(At least it's fixable!:))

I think it was the intro to so many aluminum head options? Nobody does cast anymore?

I agree. The only engine Pontiac had that even stood a chance was their 421 Super Duty. But I guess there were not nearly enough available for the GTO introduction. Too bad. Because the GTO would have been a different and more formidable animal had it had the 421. But it looks like DeLorean was trying to keep GTO out of GMs radar in '64? (And we think corporate politics is bad today? Lol. It's ALWAYS been tough!)
Yeah DeLorean got some resistance from the GM ivory tower as the story goes. Btw my brother, mother, and me, we had five GTO's back when. My mother didn't keep hers long (65 vert) as she couldn't stop spinning the tires that scared her. A bud had dropped a 421 tri-power in his goat and for me anyway, was the fastest ride I ever drove. Too bad he totaled it coming home from a bar...

My high school car was a '66 GTO. 389 with Edelbrock torquer and Holley 650 spreadbore. I bought for $200 because of a decent dent in rear quarter. One my share of races back then. In my school days these cars were 10 years or older. Thus the only cars we punk *** high schoolers could afford. Who knew the future? Lol. Awesome times that still effect me today? Lol.

My HS ride I got the summer btw junior and senior year was a ’67 GTO vert. Got to like em as my elder brother was big on them. Mine was all optioned out, head rests, power windows, seats, rally dash, console dual-gate, tilt-wheel, etc. My brother hated verts and anything robbing HP; but I won a few late night runs and yeah lost some…even to a guy in a Firebird with a motor my brother tricked up for him. Still had to pay him 20 bucks for losing. Decent cash back when I was making 2 bucks an hour. THAT summer in my goat was golden; some of the best memories of my youth with gals, drive-in’s, outdoor movies, racing. Now my brother reminds me how great it would be to still have that GTO of mine today.

67 Chargers and C body console cars had the cigarette lighter in the rear console finish panel. 66 Chargers had the full console.
I have never seen a cigarette lighter in the front console of a 67 Charger, it was in the front section of the rear armrest console, 66’s had a full length console. That console cigarette lighter is only C body.

I installed 64 rear vert panels in my 63 to dress the interior up; these have ash trays in the armrests. Lol, had I kept the old console I think I'd a had six ash trays!

All 67 Chargers had 2 cigarette lighters, 4 ashtrays. I have seen some with another ashtray in the passenger door armrest, which would make 5 in a 4 seater car.

I used to have an A body. Kinda skipped B and C,
and now it's about a D.....

On my 72...I up until this spring I didn't like the way the shape of the B pillars or the way the body lines didn't connect....I liked the 73 better on both accounts. After owning the car for nearly 30 some years I now like the 71 and 72 better, still think the 71 is a bit cleaner and still like the 73 and 74s but like my car much better. Good thing, not a lot I can do about it.

...and IIRC the '70 B cars were a holdover because the planned for 1970 design wasn't completely ready.

You 68-70 guys are actually lucky the 70 is the same as 68 and 69 as the 71-74 body should have started in 1970.

Bulkhead connector. 12v wires needed to be attached with buss bars or solid connections.

Torsion bar suspension. It would have been interesting to have coil suspension for the extra room for headers.

Nah....The torsion bar suspension helped handling by putting suspension components lower and closer to the rear.
Torsion bars are fine, it is that PLUS all the other things that crowd the space. Starter on the left along with cooler lines and kickdown linkage ?

I certainly don’t miss the good old boulevard ride, that car would never handle like torsion bars on the curves that replaced our square corners on our gravel roads.
