What happens "IF" a Torsion Bar is removed and the car is not on Jacks?

Hi,
Can I damage the front suspension IF I have the drivers side Torsion bar removed and I lower the car off the jack stands?

The drivers side will collapse all the way until it bottoms out the shock or the bump stop which will stop the travel... Why do this?

I’ve never done this, so I can’t guarantee that the following will or will not happen.

The worst that might happen is the pin that is pressed into the LCA would get bent, the second worst would be the bushing might get mangled.

if you can just slide the torsion bar into place and not raise the adjuster, there is a much greater chance of not damaging anything.

The car will rest on the jounce bumpers, should be fine. I was driving a car when a torsion bar broke, and it didn't damage anything. the car will sit low and you may not get you jack back out...

Short answer, yes.
You will damage at least the LCA shaft, and probably the bushing in the K frame.
You will also bend the strutarms connecting the LCA.
Why would you be doing this, and another set of jackstands are cheaper than the damage. At the least put cribbing under it to hold it up.

Lots of variables but if you were just to let the car down to the ground I do not think it would do any damage normally. Of course anything is possible but understand that there is no support for the back of the LCA so all of the weight and tension is on the pivot shaft

Ok, so...I'm pulling out the TTI headers and the 426 Hemi.
I will slide the Torsion Bar back in..easily accomplished...
