Even the squirrels find a shady spot and a breeze and relax for a minute! Until I let the dog out!

The gray ones are a nuisance. The red ones are worse than small, ankle-biting dogs.

I generally leave the squirrels alone, it's the chipmunks that do the most damage and get airborne from ballistics around here...

I have an oak that they generally just make a mess of. This year I noticed a neighbour regularly throwing out those large plastic water bottles so I snagged four, cut the bottoms and tops off and wrapped them around the tree. It took two to go around the trunk. The squirrels were able to jump over a single row so I added a second row. There's only one ore two that have managed to get over them and the damage is minimal.

Yeah the wife thought she’d have a great idea and put the bird food in a 5 gal bucket and leave outside! The squirrels have been feasting! This one was funny to watch. He faced one way for a minute, he’d get up and turn face the other and lay down. He was in the shade with a breeze! It was still hot though!
