help, What holds the hood pop up spring in place on a Superbird? I am building a tribute and I have the spring, and I want it to be close to the stock configuration.
Please advise,

Well, I'm not sure about the 70 but if it is the same as the 68, the spring end hooks on a small eyelet and then rotates into place under a small nib and it basically just kind of snaps into place... here's the 68 version maybe it's the same?

Wow, THANK YOU!
Mine is a tribute and it’s a fiberglass piece, but your close up picks will help me make it work...If you look my enclosed picture, you’ll see it’s a very different dealio.....yet, with your guidance, I see what I need to do.
Thank you so much!

It's actually just installed "red neck" style with 3 small metal straps and screws. At least it is on mine. I understand the Daytona didn't get a lift spring at all, and not truly sure the Birds did either. Only picture I could find on my computer... I'll try to remember to take a better picture for you tomorrow.

It is the same on a 70 RR/Satellite. Ask me how I know? I snapped off the small eyelet on my 70 RR. Fixed it redneck style !!!! Actually used a black nylon cable tie cut close. Was totally unnoticeable.
