what other fenders fit 73 charger cause I have a problem?

Hello to all,

new here, but been viewing your posts for more than a year. I have a 73 charger and noticed passenger fender does not look correct behind the headlight assembly. there is a panel spot welded to the fender that holds headlight assembly and has been cut so brackets will bolt to core support. when compared to another fender I can see the diff in the two. what gives here? 4 dr fender? thanks in advance.

73/4Charger. Plymouth the 4-door are different.
I might have a junk fender that has the H/L bucket plate.

Thanks, but I have a scrap fender. I can drill out the spot welds & make it right but wasnt sure why the fender on the car was diff. I did did not know they were different and it bothered me til I had to ask the experts {you guys}. Thank you again.

Could you possibly have a 72 fender that had hid-a-way headlights?

I dont believe so. I thought they were slightly different from 72 to 73. Wish I cold show with a pic but not able to at the moment. the bad fender assembly I have has head lights and all still attached but the panel that butts up to the core support is different. the one on the car now looks to been cut with a hack saw in places so support braces for headlight assembly could bolt to core support.

Yeah if I remember right, the fenders from a 71/72 are shorter than the 73/74. The 71 and 72 cars are overall a good bit shorter, because of the stupid gubmint imposed 5MPH bumper systems mandated in 73.

71 is all its own 72 is basically alone also but can be used by changing the headlight bezels and brackets behind them the 73-74 fenders are the same all charger only the bumper brackets are different and there is fillers on 73-74 but the 72 fender will work on a 73-74 car
