What fluid have you guys been running in your borgeson steering gearbox?

I don't know about the bergeson, but on my 66 Satellite with a 6.1 Hemi I am using the ATF+4 as recommended for the Gen III engine PS pump. There is no problems or leaks on the 66 stock steering sector.

Remember what makes the PS pump happy should be compatible with the sector.

Got the complete kit from borgeson with the gm style pump , of course they never said what to use for fluid so I used power streering fluid from NAPA , No problems so far.

Gentlemen,
My opinion....use a good HYDRAULIC OIL, of the owner's choice, such as ISOVIS (International Standards Organizations Viscosity Index) #46 which is similar to SAE 15 wt lube oil. Hydraulic oil is best suited for vane pump service.....antifoam, antiwear, extreme pressure characteristics and anti-scuffing additives. What does the steering box builder recommend? Just my opinion....I'm sure the people using ATF will disagree.

I thought 65roadracer may have a recommendation he has had a bit of experience with borgeson

This is what they told me for mine.

We recommend standard GM power steering fluid
