What PSI for my Roadrunner?

What PSI should I go with for my 73 Roadrunner? Door jamb says 26 and some people say go with that and others have said 32.
I have Goodyear Eagle #1 NASCAR P225s 70R14

I don't think I'd put much stock in a fifty year old tire recommendation.
What does the tire say maximum pressure is, on the side of the tire? What is the rim width?
I'd probably run about 5 lbs less.
44-45 lbs max? I'd run high 30s.

32 in front 28 in rear but I watch the center tread for wear

If the car has under steer, I'll raise the psi in the fronts. If it has over steer, I'll lower the psi in the fronts if the psi is within the recommended pressures listed on the tires and yes, the fronts usually have more psi in the fronts than the rears. Watching tire wear is another good thing....

In the day, the tire pressure was to obtain optimal ride quality. They didn't care about tire wear in the least. Make it ride good and they sell more. I've always ran what the tire manufacturers recommend. That has traditionally been 32psi. Some now say 35 in the sizes our cars run.
My 22 Ram says 51, so there you go.

I think there's 90 psi in my box truck, and my pickup can run 75. I had 65 last time I checked.

Those decals were for bias-ply tires. I've used 32psi in my tires for decades.

How does a 55 year old tire sticker know what todays tire needs?

If you follow the sticker at 26 then you have half the recommended max psi of 51 on the side of the tire.

I run 37-40. I don't want them rolling under in corners. I don't care if the center wears more than the outside, I don't run them down to little tread. Depends on how much stuff the car has on it, factory A/C is heavy, power options add more weight, you carry a tool box in the trunk? Always have a full tank, loaded for a trip, etc.

Play around with it and see what you like for your driving style and car weight.

Depends on what you are using the car for. Street driving, 32-35. Racing, a little less, depending on what the tire says.

I have some of those 14 inch redline radials. I run about 25-26 depending on what the lowest one lands on so they all match. Handles like the oem car it is and still will thump pretty hard on bumps. Tires wear even as can be. Not sure how I’d like something like 32 psi in it. Car turns corners with a nearly balanced feel. I don’t care for cars that skate around.

I agree. For our old cars, NOTHING is carved in stone. Air up your tires to a number you pick. If you don't like the way it rides or handles, CHANGE IT.Tires wearing uneven? Fix the front end, change pressure, stop doing monster burnouts (wait, let's think about that last one!).
Make your car perform the way you want it, change it if it isnt.
