Does anyone know what the wattage output is for a 1970 Charger radio/ 8 track player? I am trying to round up speakers but I am lost. Thanks

Most AM radios were 2 watt. I think the AM 8 tack would probably be the same. You need 8 ohm speakers.

Factory radio/sound systems were garbage back then. The aftermarket was a big player, we did a lot of installations. Jensen 6x9's on the shelf ! Any modern speaker with the correct ohm's will handle the enormous power of the factory radio !

Yup... The OE 70 radio/tape player had only a few watts of output. Add some line level adapters and upgrade to a higher, quality aftermarket amplifier. Check out Crutchfield.com they have a great selection plus the line level converters..

Just my $0.02...
