This is The written story we got with the car

Edith Anderson of Kennebunk Me. worked as a office manager/secretary at Snowden Motors In Kennebunk. She ordered the Coronet from the dealership with only Hubcaps, power steering and a Day/night mirror. She was very frugal and probably considered a radio as a extravagance as The car is a factory Radio Delete.. Edith ordered a new coronet in 1970 and sold the 1965 to her sister Alice Mclnnes. Alice drove the coronet until she stopped driving, and the car sat behind her sons house where she was living. In where they did some shade tree repairs and had it painted at the high school auto shop. Kylie (girl we bought it from) drove the car through high school and part of college until the motor got locked up. The car has been sitting in and out of the garage ever since.

The car has 42,000 orig. Miles. The doors open and shut amazing. The car has the orig radio delete plate in the glove box and all the service records from when it was new and owners manual, even the orig. dealer window sticker and fender and vin tag.

The owners I bought it from took the engine apart and it is now in boxes in the car. They repaired the rear floors with some sheet metal. the trunk floor is rusted in the middle , the floors are solid as far as I know. the quarters are rotted above and in front of the wheel and might have some bondo behind the wheels. The doors and rockers are very solid. the fenders are solid other than the dog leg on both sides. the inner fenders are also very solid. The int. is all orig. and smells like the famous "old car smell" , I have no set plans for the car at this moment. I got a smoking deal on it , I just couldn't pass it up.,

how much money are you willing spend on this car ?

I would take it appart 100% pull all the rust out of it and piece it back together. Like I'm doing on my '67 coronet 4door. Search the forums and find your answers.. I will have a new car out of the deal for around 30,000 total investment less my labor.I have chosen not to restore it 100% original even though I have all the original parts to the car... I am also the 3rd and 5th owner of the same car.

I have 3 cars in one. The stock # matching parts... the upgraded parts and drag racing equipment if I want to go that way.... and all the documentation as well as sales brochures and related mopar stuff.

You could sell it to someone here on the board for a good deal:wav:

I would gut it and put it back together exactly the way it is. I would upgrade the suspension and plant a 426 cross-ram wedge in there.... right down to the hubcaps.....

I have no set budget , I could tare it apart and do a full resto on it but I already have a giant 1968 dart project I just got back from the media blasters,

As is where is old Maine bucket.... $750....to a guy who needs it for parts to finish his ride $1500... to the right person with family ties and a long dedicated history to that car.... priceless

oh, wow, maybe just because were at different parts of the country but I was thinking way more, up here it is very hard to find car like this, not to sound like Im started a picking fight, I just thought more

I just moved to Florida from Maine 3 years ago... pull the hubcaps and the chrome and in a couple years on eBay you could get $2000

No. just a car like this is worth hardly anything unless someone wants to put many years and a lot of money for themselves... you don't have a Maine sense of humor I guess. But seriously around a grand as is... they a great cars and I have seen worse brought back but if there is no deep sentimental attachment it's a parts car and should bring a couple grand you can use towards the '68 you have... once you part it and find buyers etc... all joking aside.

you're free to think its worth whatever you think its worth. I hope you dont have any desire to own a 65 post car. I've seen cars completely rotted out and gutted go for a grand. Sure, if a guy wants to go racing he can drop 75 to 100k in a car. That doesnt mean this car is worthless. That body is what the factor was putting out to go racing with in 1965. You want a show car done up to look like an original race car. Or you wanna race in a class for those cars that s what you want. You want to spend a measly 1000 bucks go find a 76 4 door dart. A racer will drop that fueling up the r.v. and dragging the car to the track and paying entry fees just to race for a weekend. With the potential that car has, 4k to 5k

Ok but like I said.... to the right person it's priceless.... I lived in Maine and once the rust starts the car is usually gone I would like to see it blasted down to bare metal. Are you offering 4 grand for it as is? All I see is chrome, glass, dash, maybe a hood maybe a trunk lid roof looks good the fenders and quarters are gone the floor and suspension engine gone.... interior has some pieces but I don't see 4-5 grand there. Maybe a rust free Texas car.

If I were in the market for a post car, and based on the op's description and the pictures posted I would take that much with me to go look at the car. I feel its worth that much. I would certainly low ball him right off the bat. By if upon visual inspection it was what I was looking for I would be willing to pay that. Maybe im not reading it right but to me he makes the car sound solid other than the usual spots.

That would make a bad*ss sleeper. If I got it for a real good deal I would keep it. Put in a nasty small block, Drag race it. I personally wouldn't restore it - but we are all different.
