69 Super Bee with Torque Thrust rims
I am going with a 17” tire and I am opting for more profile than I am width.
Front... 215/55/17 on 7” rim
Rear... 235/55/17 on a 8” rim
Any thoughts on backspacing as well.
ALL COMMENTS WELCOMED.

Too many beers in at this point to think about tire sizes and back spacing but that is a good looking tire. I have always been a Dunlop fan to boot.
They do however look like they are directional, I don't know if that matters to you.

LMAO... I knew I should of posted this earlier in the day

Dunlop fan here too, but my wear bars were showing by 18k miles. Half of that mileage was in snow and a lot of ice. Otherwise, no complaints. My parents used Dunlops in the '60s & '70s. Always good results.

Dunlop is owned by Goodyear in this and some other countries. It aint yer fathers Dunlop.

Still just a tire though.
Nothing made here anymore.
Even the parts that are made here don't fit like you think they would being made in Merica and all.
It's a new world order. Get used to it or go without.

If we went without it would not take long and someone would be making them here. Not a big loose situation.

Fugly is an understatement. That tire needs to be on a rim at least an inch narrower.
Search wheel and tire sizes on here. There are many threads concerning backspace.

Lol... I didn’t pick it. It’s just what was on there when I bought it.
I have done the search on rims and tires for 17” rims but there isn’t much info on BS. There is plenty on a 15” rim.
My question is this, when I do a search for a 27” tire on a 15” rim that is 7” or 8” wide, WOULD THE BS BE THE SAME ON A 17” rim that is 7” or 8” wide?

The short answer is "No".
It all depends on who makes the rim.
If you have a particular rim in mind, call the manufacturer and ask.
If $$ isn't an issue some of them will custom build a rim to your BS specifications.
