When is enough going to be enough? Wtf?

Maybe someone can photoshop up a C3 Corvette with red lines and hub caps?
The proper wheels for a C3 Corvette.

If you ditch the fugly painted steel wheels, poverty caps :poke:
I'm with ya', the redlines look ok too
great colors, but looks like a green taxi/grandmama car now

sorry to the owner

to each their own, takes all types
many doesn't account for good taste or good/better style either

Day 2 baby, always was & always will be

Never seen a Taxi with a hardtop roof LOL

I had red stripes and polished trim rings on my 66 for a while. I thought it was a clean look until I started trying some different wheels. I ended up finding and loving the Halibrand knock off's.

I'm with ya' on the polished Halibrands

& my car came with org. Chrome Road Wheels (they were not Magnum 500s)
from the factory, it also raised white letter Uniroyals & f-70/14s
no dog/dork dishes here, or ever, even my Demon /6 3 on the tree
they were removed & Cragers SST Radial T/As were put on day 2,
when I was making very lil' $, like a $6.15 an hr job
that's what most everyone did, especially people young or old that were cruising the Blvd.'s
at least out here in car culture country California, East Bay Area

very few hold out back in the day, even the grandmas/grampas

I was making decent money but being my car was a mordoor, why spend money on wheels when I could spend it on a motor lol? My money got spent on a big block to replace the poly teen!!!

To quote Rick Nelson....

"But it's all right now
I learned my lesson well
You see, you can't please everyone
So you got to please yourself"

Didn't like the Keystones until many years later....
I know when the Keystones were out in the mid 70's 'I didn't care much for them'
but now it's one of my favorite wheels for these cars, in 15" of course
not the dinky 14" wheels most all these cars came with
unless it was some specialty car or V or M or 6bbl or Hemi etc., with the larger 15"
or the land yachts' C-bodies, had full hubcaps style-caps/discs

some of the full hubcaps, are a bit sporty looking
even then I'd replace them with a mag or 5 spoked wheels of some sort

no dog dishes on 68 scat pack advert.s/press release
not a dork dish in sight

later
vs the cheap full hubcaps version,
easy choice for me the Chrome Road Wheels

one of the only hub caps I liked,
still not as good as a alum slotted polished or chrome spoke/wheels

Now, see to me, that car looks off with those wheels and caps. I don’t know if it’s because they are aftermarket and a little deeper, or it’s the color, which is too much IMO. Either way, I’m not a fan of this one, although I do prefer Roadrunners.

Agreed. I believe that's the one with a Hellcat engine in it that was advertised a year ago. If it is, it's got 17" wheels.

Amazing how the ad guys could even make a 68 Hemi Charger look great with full wheel covers.

Ok, I`ll admit to owning two Mopars with steel wheels and caps, everything else gets aftermarket, period correct ones. One was a `76 van /6, 3 spd with OD on the floor, it had carpet and paneling and the dream was to finish customizing the outside with mags, sidepipes etc. but never happened and I sold it after a few years. The other one was an `87 Gran Fury police package car I bought thru a sealed auction from a local town, other than 100% OE restos and grandmas /6 Dart the cop cars are the only models that are OK to keep the steelies and dork caps on.

This 66 Hemi Charger is on BaT right now and looks positioned to go for good money. It’s a nice car although there are a few incorrect details on it. This is the second green 66 Hemi Charger to go through BaT that showed up with hubcaps (second time for this particular car). Did a Charger ever leave the factory with hubcaps? I’m kind of skeptical but if GTXs did then maybe so.
