When were the football-shaped speakers introduced?

Can someone confirm for me the car models and year ranges that the football-shaped speakers that drop in from the top of the dash were used? I'm especially fuzzy on the '70 and '71 models.

I do know the '71 - '74 Challengers and Barracudas (E-bodies) also used this speaker.
