Closing in on buying wheels for my Charger... starting looking around and found an older thread that makes Specialty Wheels look like a bunch of crooks.

http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?t=17093&highlight=vintiques

Now I'm thinking I'll order Wheel Vintiques from Summit Racing. I'm going with 15x7 Mopar Rallyes with dark center caps. Anyone have any thoughts or experiences with buying wheels? Are Wheel Vintiques and Specialty the only manufacturers of these wheels?

Any help would be appreciated before I plunk down hundreds of dollars of my hard-earned cash...

Got the bug to BUY BUY BUY today, gotta get them wheels on my Charger!

Talked to a buddy, he had a great experience with buying Rallyes from Summit. So that's what I went with. Wish me luck!

If you are talking about the car in your signature I would not put the 70s-up rallye wheels on it. They just look out of place. The best looking period correct wheels for a first gen. Charger are the full chrome five spoke wheels with the top edge of the spokes painted blasck, commonly referred to as Magnum 500s.

They would look GREAT and correct on your car. I would suggest going with the magnumman I believe he goes by as he always seemed to have the best price with the lug nuts included. Someone here may have some contact info for him.

Here is a link for the type wheel I am speaking of. The first gen. are the ones without the trim ring with a full chrome rim instead.

These would look cool on your 74 charger, and they won't rust.
Just make sure they are clear coated to prevent them from tarnessing.

I got a set of Magnum 500 from summit racing and been in storage for over a year and Haven't had any problem with them rusting or pitting.
Price was reasonable for my 15 x 10 and 15 x 8 with center caps.

I have bought many parts from Summit, but never wheels. They were always great to work with, reasonable prices and knowledgable. Buy what you like and enjoy them, just don't put them rubber band tires with those stupid looking fart can wheels on your charger. Just my opinion, everybody has one, buy what you like, it's your car so do what you like, even if I don't like it. Enjoy

i got my MAGNUM 500'S from wheel vintiques that you see on my car in the pix. i paid $765.00 for 4 15x7's got the centers and EVERYTHING. i think shipping was in that price too. i love the wheels and i have no issues with them what-so-ever. nice wheels and i didnt get raped !

these were acquired thru EBAY !

My wheels are WheelVintiques bought through Summit and I've had zero problems wiith them. I'd heard some less than flattering comments about WV's wheels being out or true, oblong, or leaky, but found none of that to be true...at least in my case.

Who says Rallyes won't work on my Charger?

Thanks for the feedback, y'all.

I'd feel ok with wheels from Summit simply because they are good at standing behind their products. They have always made things right with me.

The Rallyes look great on your Charger.

Coker Tire in Chattanooga, Tn. also has good wheel selection and pricing.

Yes sir, they look good on that bad boy Charger!
I haven't bought a brand new set of chrome wheels since they had the Chrome Reverse, i think they were called. Look just like regular rims only chrome, deep dish for the back, I had a set of 15's at 11 inch M/T tires on a Chevy, went around a corner and broke all the studs off one rainy night, another of Chrysler engineering quality's, good strong large (compared to Chevy) studs..

pabster.....for the record...a pine tree is THE WORST thing you can park your car under. the wheels look great by the way!!!

Those wheels were made for your car. It looks Great!!!

Nice looking car, Pabster

Got a set of 15 x 8 Rallies on my 71

Ma Snart

tpodwdog, I parked it under the tree for 10 minutes while I took pictures, then I drove it home and put it back in the garage. You are a true car nut, sir- concerned that my car will get messed up by tree sap. Thanks for the concern... :happy7:
