I was in Grade 10, and starting to discover Hot Cars. The local Ford dealer had a 1962 Ford Galaxie 500XL on the lot, with 3 X 2 406 and 4-speed. Local Chev/Olds dealer had a new Olds Starfire in the showroom. It was beautiful! A future friend of mine had a 1958 Studebaker Golden Hawk with a factory supercharged 289. 3-speed stick, with overdrive. A local guy drove to Detroit to pick up his new 1962 413 Maxie Dart 2-door sedan. His family did the site work on the new drag strip that opened in Sparta, Ontario, in 1962.

I was 6yrs old and my parents just bought a run down farm. Over 200 acres and a dilapidated house. Was I worried? Sorta
