My 74 SE Charger did not come with a rear swaybar so I am adding one, BUT I have a question. 74 was the first year for the 9 1/4 which has a removable cover. My car has a 8 3/4. The question is, "Did the 8 3/4 get a bar with the dip in it or did they have the straight bar also available for the 8 3/4?" I have both so I can put either one on. My thinking is that because it was the first year for the dip bar, they did it across the board for all rears, or did it only come with 9 1/4 because that was considered " heavy duty option". Does anybody have a rear swaybar on their 74 b body and which rear is it? No picture necessary. My car is a mid year (Jan). I also have parts for a rear swaybar for sale if interested. 10-20-2011 064.JPG

My 74 has front only, so no direct help, but...

I'm fairly certain my relatively unmolested 72 with factory 8 3/4 3.23 SG has the bent bar.
I may be down at the shop today, and I'll try to get a pic.

I just bought a setup off a 77 400 Cordoba with the "small" 8 1/4, and it had the bent bar.

I just went out and looked at my 74 Road Runner. It is an early Dec 73 production car and I've had this car since Sept of 77. It has an 8 3/4 rear and the straight bar - see attached pic.74B-bodySwayBar.jpg

That was just the info I was looking for. It does look like the bent bar would make changing the pig easier but I plan on that staying in for a long time.
