There is always BS'ers out there. I got fooled by a guy that I later found was a flipper. He convinced me that he had never had an original paint car and would keep it forever. I sold him a 881 Blue 67 X for a giveaway price of 20K and 3 weeks later it was sold on eBay for 34K. Nothing was changed and it was unmistakable to me that it was my car.

Wasn’t me.
We all know they are out there. I wasn't accusing anyone. Anyway you are from the wrong state. It just makes me leery of tales I hear. So now when I sell something there is no discount for the story.

In defense of the flippers (I'm not one of them) they have to tell BS stories so that they can land the car. And I'm not even talking about low ball offer flippers, but the flippers that are willing to pay the asking price but still have to throw the sensitive sellers a story so that they can make the seller feel good about the future of their sold car.

If sellers get their asking price then who gives a FLIP what happens to it after it leaves their properties.

If sellers give buyers a discount on the asking price due to the story that he/she pitched you, then that's on the seller. How often is the "father/son project" verbiage used during negotiations?

It's a 2 way street as there are BS sellers out there too. You know the "Barn Find" advertisements.

OP, good luck on your search.

Yep, and when I start selling my cars you'll not only have to pay way too much for it just because that's what I want for it, but you'll have to pay extra on top of that for all my BS too. Good BS doesn't come cheap either.:bs:

Just curious Jerry, do you mind letting us know how much you discounted it? Just playing devils advocate here but things happen in life unexpectedly that cause us to do things we often say
"we'll never do...or sell...". That being said I know there are unethical scammers out there as well. But an additional $15k could have meant life or death, home or homelessness to someone.
I hate that it happened to you and that you feel that way but you're the type of guy that helps the hobby with a good deed. I hope you see that and feel that you did something good for someone regardless of their intent.
