Who uses 74 small block short headers....

Is the benefit of the shorty headers that they bolt up in the same place the exhaust manifolds would to the front exhaust pipes?

I have a set of mismatched manifolds on my engine and bout two feet of rusty, holey pipes coming off of them. (loud and bad sound on the cheap by previous owner?) Nah, probably just never got to it.

I want to either get a good pair of manifolds,
or if it is not a lot more money and they bolt up right, the shorty headers.

Never messed with them.
But I do know I do not want the hassle in a budget street build car of real headers, frying my starter, not fitting, etc. etc.

Will the same set fit all small block heads up to what years?

Any info appreciated.

Pick yourself up a set of manifolds from a magnum truck engine. I run a mini starter from a 95 ran and full headers from summit on my 73 small block Charger. I can change my starter without removing the header and the header don't cook the starter.

IF you go with headers, then I suggest 1 of 3 makers that will work and fit.

1st, I have not tried headers by Doug, but they have had a OK reveiw.

2nd. tti headers.... I kow, pricey.

3rd. Hooker Super Comp headers. Nearly as pricey as tti's, there single tubesize is geared towards more power. I have had them on my '73 Cuda/360. The scattersheild interfears with the passenger side header, just like the tti's do.

Otherwise, they fit GREAT!

which headers are these? im looking for this exact header - one where i can change the starter without taking the he- tti?
