One girl checked left right left before making a turn, didn't see a car to the left pulled out in front of them and sent the driver and son to the hospital, totaled the cars, said she it was a mistake and shed look better next time and the judge gave her PBJ. (probation before judgement)

Personally I think even that initial fine of $530 was reasonable considering the speed you were caught at.... if it was just a fine, why lawyer up at additional cost...just pay & walk away.

When I was in private practice, I would advise potential clients with poor cases not to expect to win. I often got the reply, "it's a matter of principle." My response was always, "this is what it will cost you, and I need payment in advance." It didn't take long until I was driving a truck again.

I have had a ticket or two but granted none that big.
I think you did ok not riding in the back seat and getting towed and impounded .
Pay the ticket , take what ever class they want you to and buy a lotto ticket, I think you got lucky.

They could have impounded your car and pulled your license on the spot. I would have paid the fine and not drew any attention. As far as reporting it they share driving violations with Pa. As long as you don’t get a survey or switch insurances nothing will happen as far as I know. I had a friend who was insurance salesman and he told me anytime you get a survey from your insurance company throw it away. They are not trying to save you money. They are looking at ways to increase your premiums. I’ve had the same insurance company but has been sold many times since I was 16 so 39 years with the “same” company and no problems. Consider yourself lucky it was only that much and nothing else was done to you. You were doing 49mph OVER the speed limit. Time to move on.

I was leaving The NATS bout 6 years ago and they nailed me for 120 in a 65. And I was slowing down lol

The LEO had mercy on me and gave me 96 in a 65. Paid the fine without any question and I do not think I got any points etc on my record as we run MVR's every year for anyone in the company on the insurance policy as a driver and nothing was on there.

The sticker may have helped. lol

For the record, I had an Escort Passport and it did not pick up the radar signal till it was too late. They were using instant on radar.
