I was looking for some vaseline (for valve cover gaskets). Not in the junk drawer so I pulled the drawer next to the junk drawer only to find a pack of cigarettes. The only time I have seen my wife smoke a cigarette was circa 1988 when she was wading in the ocean at Cabo San Lucas with one of her sisters and I was on the beach watching 'em. So I thought they must be on hand for visitors?

A week later, I found a Bic lighter sitting on the middle of the sofa. Told my spouse I did not realize she smoked. Said she didn't smoke too often. When single, I quit dating women completely as I got older. I give up.

And why is it that every pen you grab from the drawer doesn’t work. Tips dried up and they get thrown and eventually the drawer is replenished. But I must admit I always know where the micro screwdriver set is

My wife collects papers; useless magazines her mother passes on and clippings from other home-type magazines. I call it her "Gomer's Pile".

When my mother in law moved into assisted living, we cleaned out her house so we could put it up for sale since no one from the family wanted it. A 3000+ square foot house had enough 'stuff' in it to furnish 3 houses! One of the many things that she hoarded was also home type/arts and crafts magazines. The amazing part is that I loaded up my 95 Dakota 4 times to haul them to the recycle box and I'm talking about heaping loads! Drove slow as the box wasn't far and lost some because they slid off but picked them up on the way back. Thought about using some plywood side panels to contain them but even a slightly dome shaped load was heavy enough so didn't bother doing that....
