For '71 - '74 B Bodies, is it true those steel body plugs under the rear seat are not plastic like the rest because of exhaust system routing? Thank you for answers.

That is a very good question. My 73 Roadrunner only had 2 metal plugs, actually more like covers on the two holes in the rear of the floor pan, outter most location just before the riser up to the rear seat area. All other were plastic or rubber.

Ya the only steel ones are in the very outside corner of the rear footwell pan. All the others are either rubber of plastic.

I was wondering the same thing. I replaced them with rubber ones.

It makes sense that the exhaust might dictate metal plugs in those locations. After driving my car for a couple of hours, the floor pan get pretty hot from the exhaust - pretty damn hot.
