Will an Auburn "Stlye" suregrip fit into a 8.25 rear end housing?

The title says it all. I have a 69 Sport Satellite with the 10 bolt rear end and want to swap out the stock gearing (2.76), etc., to a sure grip rear end with 3.23 gears, as recommended to me by friends. Any help is appreciated.

Have you looked at their website? I think they did offer a cone type diff at one time. The stock 8.25 diffs did use clutch type SGs for many years. I also recall the 8.25 axle used ratios like 2.45, 2.71, 3.21, 3.55 and 3.91 in stock form. The 8.25s in some Dakota trucks prior to 1997 often interchange way back to 1969. The axle spline count is the same and the differentials interchange. The full size trucks and vans used the 8.25 in light duty applications. These may have SG. It may be one way to go, using a used gear set if the ratio you want isn't available new.
I put an 8.25 in my 67 Dart a long time ago, say 2006. It came with a 2.71 ratio. I found a 4wd Dakota with a 3.55 and a clutch type Sure Grip differential. I had the diff rebuilt and slipped the gears and diff in the axle. It was approx $300. MUCH cheaper than buying new gears and a new diff! Count on the gears being at least $200, the diff being $400 plus the labor and misc parts. You might be better off looking for a complete 8.75 with decent gears. The brakes interchange and in many cases, the drive shaft will still fit.

I would rather have an 8 3/4 rear end for sure, but, they seem impossible to find. I have checked the spline and they are the same (27), so that part is okay. I will check their site though.
Thanks!
