Back in the day while I growing up in Minnesota we gave a nod to shorts and sandals and said “let’s hit the beach”….

-2deg forecasted this Saturday and then back up to 51deg next Tuesday. Lot of ups and downs like this all season around here.

We had a Miracle, and a Blessing this morning here. After about a Month's absence, the Sun Finally Appeared !!! Temps only in low teens, But Looking Great !!!

Smiley cold I walked outside & be like.jpg

No thanks...
(it's actually like 50* here today, sunny clear cool breeze, way I like it)

getting in the teens every so often here, is far too cold IMHFO
in the 20*s at night is bad enough

especially when it's followed or prior to 2'+ of snow each

I used to live in Alaska, I know cold,
it's a totally different type of cold (dryer)
"here" central Sierras
we have a lot more moisture in the snow & air, in winter
it just chills you to the bone...
(very low humidity in summers or springs 25% range)
In Alaska, I'd just layer up & it was fine...
even at -10* below or colder

I used to love winters & skiing or sledding, quads, 4 wheeling etc.
now the older I get (I'm 63) the less I like 'the freaken' cold',
in fact now I despise it...
I know we need it & I only deal with it, to be away from the inner-shittys
flatlands valley or the bay & those that dwell there...
I guess it's worth the '60 or so days' of (my) hell, to be away from the ****
to still have 300 days of sunshine, warmth & beauty
or the trees, lakes, streams etc.

I'll just flush twice, it's a long way to Sacramento :poke:

up here it's actually colder when it's clear than snowy or cloudy

I lived in NE Mpls until I was about 30 then had to move via corporate transfer. Chicago, Denver and then out here. We used to have a cabin in the Detroit Lakes area when I was a kid. Parents sold it as the gaggle of kids grew to nine. Most of us wished they would have kept it - but of course then my dad was doing all the work.
