I have a 72 Plymouth sattelite Ralley dash with guages that was given to me. I want to mount in my charger. All looks same ad charger ralley except where its normally fuel/oil pressure its a clock and to the right, first small gauge is fuel/oil. I can't get pic to up load. Thanks for help. I also got full harness.

It will work but I think 73 & 74 cars only had a 120 speedo even on the Rally dashes instead of the 150 on the 72.

I think the speedo max reading was also tied to engine options.

HP cars got the 150. Two barrel cars got 120.

I'm sure someone knows the exact details.

As long as you have the correct harness for
The cluster you are swapping in it should be.no problem.

Just make sure you label all the wires you take off so you know what they go to on the new cluster.

everything will swap out perfectly. Clock got its own wire taking power from ammeter stud ( should be there I guess with your new cluster )

keep your AC-Heater control unit ( if the new cluster came with it ) since this control changed between 72 and 73.

Keep your wiper switch too, of course, in case it is included on cluster and they are diff speeds.

check for the clock conditions... they use to be damaged. This is the best moment to be sent to rebuilt if needed. Simply ground the chassis and feed with 12 volts + the clock prong. Will hear a CLICK and should work for about 40 to 60 secs untill stop ( if you cut the power ) or heard the next click if is still sourced

Nacho could I remove the clock and put a factory tach in place of it? Wouldn't that be way better and even cooler?

Yes, if you have a few hundred bucks laying around.

I'll be putting in a vintage aftermarket unit that fits and has a similar font...for about $25.

Do you currently have a non-rallye dash in your car?

If so, you'll either need a rallye dash harness, or you'll need to extend most of the wires, and you'll need the switches for the rallye dash as well.

I just did that with my rally dash (replaced clock with correct tach) in a 71 GTX clone. Just remember that you need a signal from neg side of coil and a 12V source for the tach. Also, if you use the bezel lens that had the clock for the tach, there will be a hole in it where the winding stem came thru. Good luck!

that bezel is correct for a tach cluster
the factory used a small plastic plug they
would put in that hole.
good luck with finding one.

as mentioned... yes. Cluster is the same between clock and tach.

Is Tach cooler than a clock? dunno, my car being auto is fine with clock which I likes. Although I added the smaller autometer tach available with mounting bracket system underneath the ashtray on dash frame. I'd like to attach it to column BUT there is no way to make it without block anything on cluster even being the smaller one. I think is kind of taste which gauge you preffer or how usefull could be on your driving

Repro tachs ( but 8K instead 7K original were ) are available around in $200 rate

Need to make the harness or buy repro ( they are also available ) but honestly home made it is a piece of cake. just couple of wires plus the one running between bulkhead and coil

he mentioning is a rallye cluster upgrade, not a change from a standard cluster

Nacho I do have a standard sweeping speedo cluster in my charger. Can't stand it. Ugly. Love the Ralley. This was given to me as well as the harness. Both out of a 72,sattelite. I will probably keep clock for now. Add tach later.

Ok, on first post what I could read is you got a diff rallye cluster than the one you had... nevermind.

if you got the harness would be fine, AS FAR its 72/73 to match your 73 body wiring and all... even that, will need to check the engine bay wiring with the rallye harness to be sure. Some wires were turned around all allong the years.
