Anybody know where I can get a set of wiper blade refills? I have the wiper blades, just looking for the rubber refills.

Any good parts store should have them.

I have some new ones with the stainless in them PM me

Good luck finding just the actual blade refils.

I haven't seen the good, fused, one piece blade refils for almost ten years.

Everything seems to have gone to the more difficult, narrower multi paiece with the seperate metal strips.

My immediate problem is that, although the newer blades fit the posts on my arms, the blade carrier is too tall and hits the hood when the wipers try to park.

The factory blade carriers for my 73 are VERY low profile.
I can't find any modern ones that are even close.

Not good news, but thanks for the info.

If you find any, please let us know.

You guys without concealed wipers (pre-71) have a lot easier time, as you can just switch to the later blade/holder assemblies.

I've seen the older style "NOS" refills on ebay for $20-$30, but I don't know if I trust a 20 year old rubber part to not be brittle.

I've considered building a hybrid blade holder from the main body of a 71-74 set, and swapping in the parts that you actually slide the blade into, but the originals are attached with a cheap crimp, where the new ones have a rivet.
Looks very difficult to execute.

I've also considered taking a newer style blade holder and cutting out the portion that snaps on the pin, and re-welding it in a lower position.

Geeze, I sure would like to find a better solution.

I really wonder why the standard changed the old style was so much easier to replace. Is it really cheaper to manufacture a three peice design that includes metal?
