Just finished a dash restoration on my 71 RR and everything works perfect. Dash lights, turn signals, headlights, tach etc. Except when I turn on the car I hear a sound coming from the wiper motor and with the wiper motor switch (2 speed) in the off position the wiper motor is pulsing.
You can put your hand on it and feel it and if I put a 12v test light on the connector it slowly/dimly flashes on and off, besides that the wipers work great as does the windshield cleaner fluid pump.
Car is bone stock 426 4 speed.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Sounds like the internal park switch is jacked up, terminals P1 & P2 should be the switch. The switch has juice at all times with the key on for parking the wipers, sounds like a rebuild is definitely in order but unplugging one of those terminals should tell you if that's it.

I have a 71-2 wiper motor in my 69 and was able to fix the park feature by making sure the body of the motor was properly clocked on the housing. Its also important to make sure the copper ground strap is on the top right bolt on the unit and is making a good connection.

Pics,

Notice mine originally was not clocked correctly (little tabs in notch) plus the rod that hits the switch inside was not making contact and needed alignment, those combined fixed it.

You're clocked for an E body. Not sure because the OP didn't state if he had a three speed motor, but does mention a two speed switch. Yours is a three speed/variable speed and they are totally different animals. BUT, yours is currently clocked for an E body if that's where you have it clocked.

Yep it's on my 69 RR now so I had to re clock it to make it work, among other things to fix :) yes I think he said his was a two speed just trying to give him some ideas like the ground strap.

Thanks for the info I plan to pull it apart before I send it off and yes it's a 2 speed assembly.
Thanks
