ok guys. the 69 runner I am working on is kind of givin' it to me on a fairly large scale. the car has what appears to be a 3 speed wiper motor, which is the design needed to clear the base of the 6 bbl air cleaner base. the switch in the dash has 3 positions, but it has been my experience that they are park on bottom, low in the middle and, high on top(switch position). I didn't change the switch. is it possible that there is a 2 speed motor wiring so that the 90 degree motor works with the 6 pack base? or am I missing something?

you have a 2 speed switch, you need the 3 speed switch in order to make 3 spd wiper work

thanks for the quick reply A383Wing. I understand the switch needing to have 3 run positions and a park position. and or a rheostat for the speed control, I don't understand how the thing was working at all before. I am all but positive that the parts I have were original to the car too. I guess the real question is were there 2 speed motors in the 3 speed motor/gear configuration? it would be a new one on me, but I don't see why it couldn't be so. the only thing I can guess is that there is a new wiper motor and 3 speed switch in the very immediate future!!!!

Just curious is the six pack original to the car or was it put on at a later date? I had the a similar problem with my six pack. I ended up modifying the air cleaner base to fit the 2 speed motor. (Long story and years ago ) wondering if you have a 2 speed that was changed over to a 3 speed wiper. If so the wiring may be different.

Im no expert - but passionformoparmopars on this site is an expert and Kim could give you some factual answers for sure. She's an expert on wiper motors.

I really appreciate the response. the car was not a 6 bbl. so I get the 2 speed, low cost runner package. I just don't get the parts on hand, just odd. thanks again GetX'd. Lenny.

low bottom, medium in the middle, high on the last click. "Off" click is when the motor reverses and you have your park. Got your part number on the switch and on the motor? If there's three distinct clicks, it's a three speed switch.
