I’d Like To Be Able To Disconnect Certain Wires Running To Various Places On My 69 Satellite Race Car.

Just Wondering If Those 4 Pin Make/Female Trailer Connectors Are A Good Idea To Use?

I Seen The Weatherpack Ones But Think You Need a Special Tool Which Is Probably About $150 Lol

I purchased a Weatherpack terminal kit and crimpers on Amazon and I like them (there is a learning curve so practice first).

Don't see why they wouldn't work just fine. Make sure you solder and shrink-wrap your connections. They may not look as "professional" as the Weatherpack system but will sure do the job.

I'd use dielectric grease on the terminals. Should be fine.

The weatherpack system is an excellent method of connecting/splicing connectors.....well worth the investment.....cost is relative.....shop around for kits in the sizes you need. Look at Amazon....Your $150 price is high....

The trailer plug . I did a car and used that method using the 4 wire trailer wiring kit to replace the rear wiring harness.
Right, left for turn and brake lamps, parking lamps and reverse using all 4 wires.

Thanks For The Replys Guys. I ll Check Out The Weatherpack Connector Kit. If I Do Use To Trailer Connectors I ll Make Sure I Use Dielectric Grease.

Thank You!

Why can't you use switches?

Weather pack is OK. Not really designed for multiple connects and disconnects, but one of the least expensive.
I have been moving from weather pack to the Metripack 150 and 280 series. This is more like connectors on modern cars. A bit smaller, and generally easier to connect and disconnect. The deutsch connectors are nice, but higher in price. I don't know that much about the different series.
Example: DT series takes 14-20 AWG and is rated at 13 Amps.
MetriPack 150 is rated to 14 amps, and the 280 series is rated for 30 amps.
