Have a pair of axles and an 8.75 housing. Splines are a little messed up on one axle, trash or useable?

First picture how's the splines, second shows a small continuation from the first.

Depends on how well they slide into the carrier. If they have to be forced I would say don't use them. Or clean up the mashed splines with a dremel or file. But hell growing up with little money forced me to make due.. If you can afford it buy some new ones.
I just got a set of Yukon axles with green bearings from Rockauto little over 300 bucks. You have to press on the bearings and cut them to length. They come 32 inches long. Just match your old ones and chop it off. I used a chop saw from work. it worked great.

If you decide not to use them send me a PM I have a good set in the garage.

I wouldn't use them but I would also check the differential for damage. Something ain't right here

It's just one that's got the messed up splines. No idea how it happened, they were sitting in some one's shop for who knows how long. Will get a new set though

I have one like that also, I wouldn't use it, so I got some new ones from Dr. Diff.

IMO, Junk, get another axle.
However, the spline area can be saved to align sure grip rebuilds.
