Finally... I found heaven, a place where everyone talks B bodies!!!

Awesome!!!

I am the proud owner of a 68 Charger... and though it is not an RT... and has a 383 instead of a 440 or 426 hemi... I have put sooooooo much blood sweat and tears into this thing. I just love it!!!

I have owned it for about 13 years and have never been able to drive it because I immediately took it all apart and have only had bits of time and money here and there to work on it since then. Man am I anxious to drive it... hopefully really soon.

Here are some pics of before, during, and about where it is now (I finally got it painted a couple weeks ago and have actually started putting things back on this past week, so it is not just a shell anymore). I have done 100% of the work myself.

Welcome to FBBO 68! Your body & paint work look pretty damn good! You should start a thread in the "Members Projects & Restorations" forum because I would like to see your continued progress.

Thanks. I will do that. In fact I will go check that forum out right now because I love to see other people's projects and progress as well.

Welcome aboard!

Nice work! Glad to see that the fruits of your labor will soon be paying off.

Welcome. We do rock, but we try to keep the chips to a minimum:grin: (yeah weak joke, but I've been sick)

that's some shinyazz paint ya got there:HappyNewYear:

Not an R/T or HEMI?? WHO CARES!!!

Bonus points for sticking with the project!! Looks great!

Looking Good, Keep us up to speed as you work on getting it done. WELCOME!!

I am impressed ! Very nice work and can't wait to see more pics as your build goes along !!

As I'm sure you know there is nothing like doing all of your own work. What a rush when you stand back and look at it.

Nice............ I have one just like it currently in new metal........lots of spot welding to finish, and then some serious blocking.

My problem is that I need a new hood.....it's straight, but it's bowed upward a bit, and I can't get it out! Makes me crazy!

Let's see more pics as you go along! :santa::santa:

Thanks again everyone for all of the nice compliments.

The interior is white. I went out of my way to get it that way back when I bought it... don't know why. ??? I do still like it that way but it is much harder to find clean parts for it etc then if it was black.

Man... my hood was bent too. I had to jump on it (carefully) with lumber under it to get it back into the correct shape. I don't think that there was a strait panel on this car to start with. Boy did I get myself a project with this one! :black_eye: Lots of practice with cutting, welding, and shaping metal. (more than enough) I am definitely not a professional, I worked at a body shop for a couple summers going through college 13 years ago... now I barely remember what to do, all of the materials have changed, and I don't have any correct tools for it. :sigh:

I am currently working on installing the headliner so I can get the rest of the interior put in (don't want to put the seats in then have to step all over them doing the headliner).

All windows and bumpers, and most of the trim is on. Now working on getting everything into the engine compartment so I can see if it will run for me.

Still haven't decided what wheels and tires to put on. Hmmmm...

I am still meaning to take some new pics and put them in a thread over in the resto projects section... but so excited to keep working on it to get it done that never stop to take pictures. :D

Bitchin' paint job!!! that white interior is really gonna make it sharp!! i'm kinda particular to white interior myself... it is a PITA to get it nice n clean, but the results are more than worth it!!!

For your bent hood, have you disassembled your hood yet, drill the spot welds out and remove the inner bracing? You can do magic on a hood when both components are separated.
