I recently purchased a 1966 Belvedere ll that had a front disk conversion. The master cyl was leaking so had to replace it. The one that was on it was a 67 mc with chrome top and dual lines. By the way these are manual brakes. Replaced the mc and rebuilt the rear shoes. The front disks appeared to not be working at all so replaced the calipers with 1976 dodge aspen pieces also stainless lines from Dr Diff. Pistons on the calipers will not retract causing the wheels to bind. Is this mc ok to use for this?

You might be trying use a drum brake cylinder that has valving to hold 2 to 4 psi of hydraulic pressure even when released.

You can likely remove the hold back check by removing the flare seat in the MC and reinstalling it.

Is the brake light switch not allowing the rod to back out enough

Don’t know where the valve would be so I can check. When I installed the mc I removed the screw that held the piston in, was that right?

When I convert my power wagon to disc, I ran a screw into the master port for the front. I used the screw to pry the seat out. The residual valve is behind it. I removed it and used the brake line and fitting to press the seat back in.
