Like this one, unfortunately MPSC.com doesn't sell them anymore. Chrome (unpainted), not orange or red:

Yeah, powdercoating to near-chrome might be an option. MPSC doesn't have them anymore. I'll call Monicatti Chrysler today. Thanks!

"Near Chrome" ... lol ... sounds like you're an Eastwood fan. I'm not. :D (Psssst, pretty much everything that place sells is made by someone else and can be found at a cheaper price elsewhere.)

Thanks for the recommendation there Photon!! I've done a couple six pak air cleaner lids, one factory in Hemi Orange and the other, a cool old TriPower, in black wrinkle. No Super Chrome ones yet ... but there's always a first time. :D

Thanks Leanna, I'll let ya know if I go that route. How much would it cost to do that on a regular orange lid?

I've never worked with Eastwood. "Near chrome" was just my made-up term for that one color of powdercoating that is as close to chrome as possible. Thanks for the real name, heh.

i've got one of those chrome lids laying around for a spare. if your looking for show quality the chrome on them wasn't very good.

Ghosty, I'm happy to help out anytime I can. You're very welcome!

I quote every job individually to be fair to everybody. If you can email me a few good pictures of yours including close ups of the dings / dents / damage I'll get back to you with an estimate. I bill at $25/hour across the board and, unlike other shops, I try to get your metal as close to perfect as I can before applying any powders to it. Please note though that I recently got my cool FBBO Vendor tag over there <<----------- so I can now offer you a labor discount too! :D My email address is

PhoenixSpecialtyCoatings@yahoo.com

Most powder suppliers nowadays offer some chrome replica powder, although some are much better than others. My supplier's is called "Super Chrome," and you can see a few dozen examples of it all over my website. (Each photo identifies the part and includes the powder name for easy reference.)

By the way, I used to live in Colorado too, though it was quite a bit south of you. Beautiful state! :D

Don't hesitate to ask or give me a call if you have any other questions in the meantime. I look forward to working with you.

A buddy of mine has one. He took it to a shop to have it de-chromed and they re-chromed it by mistake. It's gorgeous. PM me if you are interested.

LOL!!! Great story! I hope he didn't have to pay for anything else except the standard chrome stripping charge though.

Just get an orange one and send it to get chromed. I have a chrome one that is already showing rust pits. But it fits in with my slightly rusted 66 Belvedere so I'm good.
