You want to know why the USA wont survive much longer....

:iamwithstupid: I was raised there until, high school, I lived in Cobblestone Ct. off Cobblestone Dr. by Treat Blvd. & Clayton Rd. area, my family moved to Antioch, Ca., then I moved to Georgetown/Garden Valley area in rural El Dorado county Ca. to live with my father during H.S., then back to Concord after school, live in Turtle Creek area by Treat Blvd. kind of on Waterfall Way, as an adult, lived there for probably 20+ years almost & 30+ total in Concord area, I worked for all the local auto dealerships there...

Cobblestone is 5 mins from where I grew up. I was near Clayton way and West by the old airport hangar. I know Turtle Creek well as I had a friend there. Remember the white lines painted across Ygnacio Valley Rd? I might know something about that.

Wow small world

Cobblestone is 5 mins from where I grew up. I was near Clayton way and West by the old airport hangar. I know Turtle Creek well as I had a friend there. Remember the white lines painted across Ygnacio Valley Rd? I might know something about that.

I know a bunch of the people that raced out there on Ygnacio Valley rd., Myself & Jim Cyr repainted the lines a couple of times, you could see the area from my upstairs deck, slightly uphill one way & slightly downhill the other way, there was Me for 1 when I was young & dumb, Jim Cyr, Rob Duarte, Scott Holman, Jeff Boggs, Rob Meyers, Dan Massachini, Johnny"hollywood"Rodregious, Roland Merman, Larry Vogal & many, many more {Sorry if I butchered any ones name spellings} I forgot many of there names now, I use to hang out at Lucky's Encino Grande Parking lot off of Willow pass {& Concod Ave.} in W.C. I think that was the intersection, after cruising Walnut Creek for "chicks"..LOL.. not very successfully most of the time I might add, then we would do a bunch of bench racing until late, then head out to Ygnacio Valley Rd. or up Willow pass to do all our grudge matches, it was like a parade heading out there, sometimes 30 or more cars... I bet we were in the same area a bunch of times,I had a Yellow 68 Charger R/T with a 513 stroker & with a old style Pro-stock scoop, a primered 68 440 inlne 2x4bbl or STR6bbl or 2x4cross ram Sport Satellite with a lift off 6pak hood, a Green 70 340 Demon & 76 Camaro RS Black & white with a 2x4 cross ram sbc, I was usually hanging arround with Jeff Holmans 72 BB Black Satellite, Jeff Boggs Burnt Orange 70 Cuda`, Roland Mermans yellow Hemi Cuda` yellow 32 Coupe w/426 Hemi, red 67 GTX, Jim Cyr's 72 BB El Camino or Grey 67 BB Camaro or Rob Meyers 68 Orange & black sb Camaro, Rob Duarte blue 72 Datsun stretched 510 with an Injected BBC... Those guys were my best friends at that time... Pretty much all mid/high 9 second cars with N20 to high 11 second cars back in the day, we were known as "the Concord Boys", Jeff Boggs dad was the head of the CHP in Martinez "good guy to know"..LOL..., Jim Cyr & I raced & traveled together for many years after that, all over the country....

no sweat bud! its all good.

Just going to jump on this band wagon for a sec here. What really galls my *** is how some on these and other forums/boards continually bash CA by using such terms as "Commiefornia, etc. You will get no argument out of me that this State is really F**ked up and out of control as it is currently being run by the Liberal, Socialist, Democrats. But if you have never been here or even lived here than keep your "Pie Hole" shut with the off handed remarks. This is probably the best climate and location to see and do things in. We still out produce most countries with our AG business...although down State in the Central Valley there is a water war going on...but there is so much more to do here than any other state..IMHO. If you don't live here or have never visited then keep the cheap shots to yourself. It doesn't make for a cohesive start to getting this ship righted. All 50 of us need to band together and accept our uniqueness and respect this great land...the USA. If you think I am full of it then fine. No sweat off my back. But having just returned back home to CA from FL...now there is a State that is a piece of work...for me there is no place like CA....

I am not one of the CA bashers that you have mentioned, CA does have very nice weather, and I can honestly say I've had the best Chinese food I've ever had in the china town part of san fransico. I think it's a great place to visit, but I could never live there. I'd live in the north pole and freeze my *** off before I could deal with the bullshit coming from that state. IMHO

I hear ya and thanks for the honest assessment too. Home is where you make it and it makes you Happy. TN has a warm spot in my heart as well. Got kin that are from there....:naka:

Like I said earlier the state is viewed form TV or people that go to S.F. Bay, or by Sacramento politics or Los Angeles/Hollywood's leftist crap & they think the whole state is like those places... Like I said in an earlier post, it a small part of the state, that is what everyone sees or hears about, not like the rest of probably 80% of the state is good hard working fun loving independent thinking conservative people, those other area's, maybe 20% of the land mass that have the bulk of the population concentrated there, with ubber-liberals like Nacey Poloesi, Dianne Fienstien, Barbra Boxer & Jerry Brown types, that don't represent the state for what it really is....

Man! I am a well read, semi-educated, ex-mil, working man, and I DONT EVEN WANT TO START ON THIS TOPIC! Have at guys. I just dont want to argue anymore!

"you want to know why the USA wont survive much longer..."

Sorry I "got into it too" And then I read FOX News "headlines" today, Oct 17 2011, front page: "Lesbian couple has put their son on hormone blockers to delay his puberty so he can decide which gender he wants to be when "HE" grows up" Only in California... "AND I LIVE HERE"!
Heck yes I AM frustrated. "who are these people and WHY and HOW do they get away with this? Anyway, no hard feelings to anyone in this group. "we" are all on the same team.

maybe if there was a decent candidate ..... lately the have all been worthless fucks .....

Couldn't agree more. We desperately need a candidate who believes in a government by the people, for the people, and of the people. Maybe that's idealistic but the concept is sound. I don't care if the candidate is democrat or republican as long as he( or she) believes in constitutional government. I'd also like to an end to the electoral college.

I never been to cali but have always wanted to just to see the different landscapes...I've always loved the thought, it would be so cool....but what I never understood is the politics out there....how does a state produce someone like Reagan and in a short few years produce some of the most anti American liberal politicians anyone has seen??? How did they get into office and stay there??? I know there are still a bunch of hard working , God fearing, patriotic people out there but it's like their voices have been silenced by the libs, hipsters, illegals and gays,... I just don't understand it, is it voter turnout? Is it the frustration every Reagan conservative feels??? I truly hope that Cali can be what it once was... We are all brothers in arms and owe it to past and future generations to take our country back to the state our forefathers intended...

Does anybody even read the stories they link to? The story about the lady with the inapproriate tank top happened om a gym in Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA. While I have my own issue with the Canadian Prime Minister, and the Canadian Government, I don't see how this can relate to with the issues that people in the US have with the US government. We have our own asshole politicians to rant over.

Which story about what tank top? The link in the original post was about Gov. Jerry Brown giving money to illegals for education. Where's the Ottawa link?

This thread is 5 years old. The original link is long gone.

There's not going to be any significant change at the national level or it won't come in time to save the country. It's a long shot, but an Article 5 Convention of the States is all that's left constitutionally. The only other 2 options are: 1) armed rebellion and 2) simply give up on the country, your children and grandchildren.

I say Article 5. It takes a lot of work at the state level but several states are moving in that direction.

I was born in Lynwood ca (east LA) my father said in that time Ca was a working man's paradise. He made good money while he was there but by 66 he could see things were headed the wrong way and moved back to kansas
