No, not any of y'all.....yesterday I drove through the Harris County Court House annex complex on my way to the house from the grocery store. Don't always do that unless the traffic out on the main road is bad and well, it's not illegal....just need to drive slow. Good thing I was too because some dumb butt woman walked right in front of me after getting out of her car. She didn't even look. Once she was out of killing range, I started to go again when I noticed she looked back over at her car and that caused me to look at what she was looking at. Her little girl (or someone's little girl) had got out of that car and started to run for her.

Another good thing is that I stopped somewhat short and had only rolled forward a couple of feet before stopping again and the paused when she saw me rolling forward. Once both of them were on their way again, I dropped the window and said "you're some kind of stooopid" as I rolled past but didn't say it very loud. If that little girl wasn't there, I could have said it much louder. The older I get, the more stooopid people I seem to run across. Sad thing about that is that I do not leave the house as much as I used to so I'm guessing that there are MANY of them walking and driving around.

People these days seem oblivious to the dangers out on the roads.

Ya, I was driving past our middle school here in town when classes just got out. The normal flashing yellow and 20mph. Three kids just step right out on the road without looking at all. I mean they didn’t even hesitate, they weren’t even at the designated crosswalks. Fortunately I was expecting such stupidity and was under 20mph and a foot covering the brake pedal. I was totally surprised though they weren’t on they phones they was engaged in conversation so that is a plus.

Are y'all ready for more Idiocy???

Jaywalking is legal in California under the "Freedom to Walk Act," which took effect in January 2023. However, this doesn't mean it's safe or consequence-free; police can still cite pedestrians if they are crossing in a way that creates an immediate hazard to themselves or others.

That is just lunacy.

I hear stuff like that, and I always think about the story of the moron who bought a Winnebago - set off down the freeway and puts Auto-cruise on. Then gets out of the driver's seat to go down the back and make himself a coffee...at 70 mph.

Wonder why he crashed?

Some of them don't anymore. There are the morons that leave their kids in a hot car. Not too long ago a Houston woman didn't have anyone to babysit so she took her kids to work and left them in the car with the windows half way down. Don't remember how many kids there were but there was 1 less and the others that survived were taken away from her. Hope they spayed her.

That seems about right honestly. Im not against crossing a street anywhere I feel is safe. But to not even glance at traffic is crazy. And a person shouldn’t be trying to cross a busy road if he has to dodge traffic.

"Pedestrians Have the Right Away". Worst thing they ever came up with. People don't even look because they think someone driving will see them.

The other thing is when you do stop for someone, they'll take their good old time crossing in front of you like you have all day. And don't hold your breath waiting on a wave to say Thank You. Same thing when letting someone enter the roadway from a side street or parking lot. :drama:

Yup... On those occasions when Im walking & hit a crosswalk and traffic actually stops for me I put some hustle into crossing the road... Cause that's how I've always done it.... Yet people 20% of my age can't/won't do the same... We are doomed...
