I think he is the son of one of my Saturday car hangout buddies. Heard rumblings from some friends about his son possibly in a fatal accident. I don't know his last name but did know his son was known for creating the game.

That Subaru video is exactly what you encounter coming out of that tunnel. Like looking at the sun, then bam you can see and the road is already turning left. You have to be turning as you exit the tunnel, if you can see the turn at speed, you are too late. Totally blind and hope nobody is running wide coming the other way. Really bad layout for the human eye to take in.

Ripped through there many times on supersport prepped GSXR750 and ZX-7 many years ago.

Driver didn't know the road, too fast, no time to correct (front wheels look full lock left), smacks the end of that K rail with side of car, finishes everything off. Horrible deal. Could have been in a hot ricer and have the same result.

Know what the speed limit is there? Where is this on the map. Direction of travel? When I go there, I just want to stay out of the way of those in the know who want to play.

That tunnel exit sounds like a death trap with the sun blinding you right before the turn - RIP to both guys, tragic way to go.

Haven't been up there is 2 decades. Couldn't imagine the area having a limit higher than 40-45. The kicker is the break in those tunnels, your eyes go from light to dark, back to light briefly then dark. Really messes with light sensitivity at just the wrong time. Think cop with a flashlight and follow my finger.

It's not an issue going 35-45, when you go out of the tunnel at triple digits, you need to be on your game! Think about that being a right hand corner on exit and a cliff. There'd likely be a lot more casualties. The Subaru guy got REALLY lucky, could have gone a LONG way down that hillside.

Definitely not a good spot/corner to "run out of talent". If you know what I mean!

A friend wrecked his ankle for life, laying down his bike on ACH. Another friend went over the side (that time on Glendora Mountain road) with his bike. He caught a bush, only went down fifteen feet. The bike (Honda CBX) went down two hundred.
