A friend wrecked his ankle for life, laying down his bike on ACH. Another friend went over the side (that time on Glendora Mountain road) with his bike. He caught a bush, only went down fifteen feet. The bike (Honda CBX) went down two hundred.
Ortega Hwy in south orange county is another that keep the sheriff recovery chopper busy. Friend of mine and very good racer/rider went 350 feet over the side. Was lucky to walk with all the broken vertebrae tip to tail. Got a zipper basically from his johnson to his throat putting him back together. We called him Humpty after that.
I watch these "fast guys" on youtube ripping around up there, bragging about how fast they are. They go to the track and are back markers or at best mid pack with expert/pro guys. Bunch of squids and on the edge for them. New bikes with 200RWHP make you fast because you can stab and steer in a straight line or mild bends.
That ACH road is dangerous on the weekends. It's cars and bikes with operators not knowing limits or the road many times.
