I didn't but the kit, but I will look into that. Is there a picture of it on your thread?

I found pictures on your thread, was your car a manual steering car?

I was going to ask you I was looking while under there my pinion is a little off center in the tunnel to the drivers side. Is your green car centered or is it off a bit? Also what diameter is your driveshaft on the green car?
The engine sits in the bay slightly to the right of center but with the standard tranny the driveshaft would be centered. With a little added length of the gear vendors box must end it slightly to the side is my guess.

PP1RT tailshaft is centered in tunnel, but the Dana pinion seems offset slightly to drivers side. I bought it used from a 65 Cornet, hard to know it's history. Just was wondering if it was common or if it's something I need to address.

are you sure its off center? Remember the axles are different lengths on a dana and the housing may appear off center but it is not....

Unless the spring perches were moved over the years and got welded on wrong. Slim chance but possible?

Yes perches have been removed, by me. Rear end is centered by clearance of fenderwell lip. I just have perches clamped on for now.

3" off center or 3" driveshaft?
3” shaft. I couldn’t get under there with the calipers. Need to get it on jack stands. The offset on my gear venders is just due to shoving it up in the tunnel and beating clearance into one side of the tunnel. It isn’t much more than an inch. Doesn’t hurt a thing.

I bounces around betwen 12.5-13.2 at cruise. Have had in the 14.'s but it's not happy, lots of surging. It likes 13.2-13.8, just need to get it there. Tried 14.5 for idle but got real lean just off idle. Still learning and playing.
My 70 Charger seems to run best at these same numbers. I tried the suggested mid 14s for idle and cruise and mine ran hotter, had some slight detonation and lost power.
The engine now gets what it wants.

Retaining plates for column blasted & painted yesterday.

Got the selector hub/cover blasted. I'm thinking the 2 holes are what someone put there to hold the hoseclamp that probably held the Sun Super tach in place. Can anyone confirm these aren't factory holes? Also still looking for a very nice gear selector lever.

I looked back at the pictures on page 14 of my build and could not see those holes on my column from the angles that I have. I'm not close to my car to double check though.

Tim,
Here is a picture of my steering coupling. Let me know if you need another view.

Thanks Sherman! I'm thinking if I get another coupler and cut 1" or so off and weld it to another, bingo! Looks like they just did the same thing!
