First I just have to say some of you guys are just amazing. I've been checking out the resto board and the work is just fantastic. You are bringing back to life cars that are way worse than stuff I scrapped years ago. You have my utmost respect and admiration. :headbang: I'm new to the boards but have been into Mopars for 35 years. A lot have come and gone over the years, but the B body keepers are a very rusty 64 Fury convertible and an A12 Bee. I had started working on both of them, but got sidetracked by life. I was hoping to get back to work on them and was shopping for a rotisserie when...........THE FLOOD struck!!!!!!! I had nearly 5 feet of water in my shop where the Bee was and 6 feet in my barn where the Fury was. All my tools, welders, parts ect.... got submerged. I'll post some pics of the carnage. Needless to say no work on the cars until I can get the shop and tools cleaned up and see what I can salvage. Until then I live vicariously through you all on this board. Keep up the good work.

What a mess. I feel your pain. Welcome aboard anyhow, and yes ,You will find some great people here.

Wow, those flood pics are just beyond heart breaking and devestating. I can't imagine how that would affect me! Welcome to the forums and thanks for the pics!

Thanks for the welcome guys. Yea the flood damage is taking it's toll. Took me 3 hours to drain the water out of a spare 440 I had, because I need to locate and clean tools, not to mention making space. Needed an impact wrench to make things go faster, had to rebuild it first, that didn't go well. At this point, anything that hasn't been drained or pressure washed has been ruined by the corrosive water and is a write off. I'm pretty much done. The cars are clean and stabilized, that's the main thing I wanted done before winter. I'll take the winter off from projects and regroup. Can't work in the shop anyway, the furnace was ruined by the water. lol. Now you all need to get to work so I have something to read and look at over the winter.:sunny:

Well, I tell you what, if you want, you're more than welcome to store any spare sure-grip 8 3/4 rears you have laying around in the back of my road runner. Preferably 3.55 or a smidge higher... Lol. You probably won't get any winter projects out of me this year. I'm still learning and wound up dropping a whole lot more money on the transmission that the precvious owner had "rebuilt." lol.

I have just what you need. A set of 2:76 posi, make that bird fly, lol.

Im sorry to hear of all this mess, I do hope it gets better for you and welcome to the forum!

lol, nice. Well, there seems to be quite a few of us in the area. Once we both get our birds flyin, we'll have to meet up at the next cruise.

I'm getting burned out on cleanup and winter is coming. Still have stuff to drain water from. need to pull the eng and trans out of the fury and no working jacks. Glad I have my 955H jack/engine hoist/tow truck, lol. Working alone is my biggest setback. takes so long to accomplish anything. Ahhhh the Motor City, I lived there for 6 months when I was dating my first wife. Was in Livonia on 7 mile, actually. She was from there and wanted to be married there. I was laid off for the winter so I moved out to be with her and help make arrangements. Should have known it wouldn't last when the church burned down shortly after we were married. That divorce cost me a superbird. Now off to the shop. Anyone want to help drain water? :blob1:

Wish I still had my bird. Have to settle for my Bee. lol

Hey, settle nothing! I would LOVE an A12! I have a NOM 440 in mine. Dreaming some day of building it up and slapping a six pack on top. Right now, she's in rough shape compared to a lot of cars on here. I'm just waiting to see a local car show with a project class... Lol.

My A12 has a NOM. I'm pretty sure the original went to scrap long ago. I talked to the original owner and he said he blew it up 6 weeks after he got it. When i got it the warranty block was long gone. Had an engine from a station wagon. lol A project class would be nice but I'd have to buy a car trailer and put down a tarp in case something important drops off.

Welcome to the FBBO forum, sounds like a great fun stable of Mopar projects there...

welcome.sorry about your flood damage. i had to drive around the flooded interstate on detours just to get to the truck stop where they had it shut down a few miles farther.hope you get everything back to normal in your garage.

Welcome to the site.

It is amazing how damaging water can be, especially since in a flood it is mixed with so much mud. As you state, many things become a write off, and that's only if you are lucky enough to have insurance that covers it...
My in-laws live in Bloomsburg; it had really severe flooding too. Luckily my in-laws are outside of town and they (and my Air Grabber Roadrunner) had no damage. Hope your damage ends up being LESS than you expected.

So far it's been worse. I didn't get much mud but whatever else was in the water continues to corrode metal, even after the water evaporates. I'm worried about inside the frame rails of the cars where I couldn't reach with the pressure washer.
