I have a 71 runner with a 383 that I was thinking of putting a 6-pack on and a airgrabber hood - I know the 383 sits a little lower than the 440, but I was wondering if any of you guys out there have done this already, and what did you did to make it work? thanks..

On my 71RR we made some spacers out of plastic to raise the aircleaner base. The main reason is that i'm running a BG SixShooter. The fuel rail interferes with the aircleaner base. Food for thought. Buddy of mine who has a flow bench did some flow testing on the airgrabber 4 barrel base using the standard airfilter. The results were pretty impressive. We are waiting on the K&N to see how much more we can get out of the aircleaner base.

Interesting - let us know what the results are!

Someone used to make 6-pack carb spacers. Goes Between carbs and manifold. Don't know if they are still out there but might be worth a search. Believe you need 1/2

1/2" spacer - do you remember if its a full length spacer or just ones that go under the carbs?

Trouble with carb spacers is you change the vacume signal to the carb. Sometimes creates all kinds of problems.

Talked with him. With just using a stock element he got 10 more cfm than the Moroso AC element. When he gets the new element he'll do some more testing

Just a thought, but couldnt one use, three two barrel carb spacers and achieve the same result.

That what these were. 3 seperate spacers. Not sure if 6-packs have the same base as others, looks like maybe so.
