100 Worst Cars of All Time

nomination for # 101

How about the 1980-1982 Mercury cougar? Poor build quality, strange "jukebox" styling, especially at the back of the car.

Considering most i see on the road, and what there making, It doesn't look that bad to me, nothing like what i picture as a Mercury Cougar though. Of course being 6-5 i always did like the larger style car. OK, let the hate begin! but thats what i think of it.

Kinda what I was thinking. Not exactly the kind of car I would have ran out and bought, but for 1980-1982 it really wasn't all that ugly.

Not a very wide selection of good looking automobiles back then.

Thanks for posting this. What I'm personally amazed is that this is the first list in a gazillion years that I concur with 99%... especially the garbage we fixed in the late 70's - early 80's.

Had an 81 Chebby Citation as a daily pile in college, and that thing was a total POS so I can see how it made the list.

In high school, back in 78-82, some friends had Matadors. Other than ugly, I remember they CREAKED every time they turned! Big, long hood. No motor!

So a lot of these cars' problems is lack of HP, but pretty much everything mid 50s on back had low HP. Bumpers can be redone as well.
